A great evening was had by all last night in the Old Ground Hotel, Ennis when we officially launched DRAMA at ENNIS to our media partners, our Sponsors and local Drama groups & Festivals.

PRO of DRAMA at ENNIS, Jackie Scanlan kicked off the proceedings with a brief summary of the Festival circuit & Ennis Players association with the One Act Finals. He wished the local Clare Groups (Corofin, Castlewood & Amphitheatre) who are competing on the circuit this year, the best of luck in their quest for All-Ireland qualification. In particular he extended good wishes to the Corofin Drama Group and to the West Clare Drama Festival (Doonbeg) who came out in force last night to support DRAMA at ENNIS.

Allen Flynn, Chairman welcomed our media partners, in particular John & Shelly Galvin from the Clare Champion who have been loyal supporters of Ennis Players for many years. He paid tribute to his hard-working committee and outlined the fantastic calendar of events organised for the weekend of Dec 2nd to 4th. He expressed his delight that Ennis Players have secured the services of Marie Mullen to perform the official opening and Anna Walker who will adjudicate at the Finals.

Allen especially welcomed Caitriona Cousins, representing our main Sponsors MACE and extended the committee's gratitude to MACE for their generous sponsorship in these difficult economic times. They are certainly living up to their strap-line; ‘'MACE, we make it easy' by making it a lot easier for Ennis Players to host this prestigious event.

Caitriona Cousins, on behalf of MACE explained how delighted MACE were to be associated with the All-Ireland One Act Festival circuit, which like the MACE stores is at the heart of communities all over the country.

On display were the wonderful arrays of trophies which will be awarded at the MACE All-Ireland Finals, including the beautiful pieces commissioned from Krystyna Pomeroy to be awarded to the director of every production competing at the Finals.

The night was a great social occasion, and Ennis Players were delighted to welcome our friends from the Drama world, our generous Sponsors and supporters and our Media partners who came out in numbers to help officially launch DRAMA at ENNIS, the MACE All-Ireland One Act Finals.
